AI and Academic Writing

Today, few students are not aware of AI; however, very few are fully aware of how to use AI in an effective, intelligent and ethical way in their academic writing. This 90-minute workshop aims to fill that gap, giving participants practical information on the ethics and university guidelines related to using AI, the dangers of using AI in writing in an ineffective way, as well as analysing examples of AI-generated text. Finally, workshop participants can try generating their own academic text using AI and getting feedback from their peers and instructor.
