The university has launched a state-of-the-art AI lab to support interdisciplinary research and hands-on student projects in machine learning and data science.

Empowering Innovation, Collaboration, and Hands-On Learning

The university proudly announces the opening of a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence Research Lab, designed to advance cutting-edge research and provide students with real-world experience in one of today’s most transformative fields.

Located in the newly renovated Engineering and Technology building, the lab is equipped with high-performance computing systems, AI modelling tools, and collaborative workspaces to support interdisciplinary research. From natural language processing to robotics and ethical AI, the lab will host projects across departments, including computer science, engineering, data science, and beyond.

“This lab isn’t just about technology. It’s about giving students and researchers a place to explore ideas, test them in practice, and collaborate across disciplines.”

— Professor William Thomas, Head of Computer Science.

The AI Lab will also host guest lectures, industry-led workshops, and hackathons, creating opportunities for students to connect with experts from both academia and the tech industry. The space is open to graduate and undergraduate students by application and will support capstone projects, theses, and independent research.
This initiative reflects the university’s long-term commitment to fostering innovation, investing in emerging fields, and preparing students to lead in a data-driven world.
