Biography

Dr. Sariya Fathima joined KAUST in May 2025 as the Student Support Case Coordinator, where she also oversees Disability Services. In this role, she supports students in navigating academic, personal, and well-being related challenges that may arise during their time at the university. Serving as a primary point of contact for student concerns, she provides coordinated, student-centered support and connects students with appropriate campus resources and services to help them thrive both academically and personally.

Dr. Sariya also advocates disability support and inclusion at KAUST. She identifies individuals who may benefit from additional support through engagement and referrals, and coordinates individualized support plans. Working collaboratively across various university domains, she helps foster an inclusive, accessible, and supportive campus environment that promotes student well-being and success.

Trained as a dentist, Dr. Sariya brings a strong health-informed perspective to her work. Her clinical background enables her to better understand the impact of health conditions, disabilities, and treatment demands on students’ academic and personal experiences, allowing her to provide compassionate and holistic support.

Dr. Sariya holds a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery and has completed additional professional training in implant dentistry, conservative dentistry, and aesthetic dentistry, further strengthening her clinical expertise and broad understanding of health and care.

She is deeply committed to fostering a campus culture grounded in inclusion, empathy, dignity, and respect for diverse student needs.

Outside of work, she enjoys working out, listening to music, and traveling.
