Things To Consider Before You Start
Consider the Following
Does your proposed GSO duplicate the purpose of an existing organization? Review the current GSO list. If there is some similarity, what makes your organization’s mission or activities distinct?
Does your group have enough long-term student interest to remain active for multiple semesters, including the required officers and minimum membership?
Has a comparable organization previously existed at KAUST, and if so, why did it become inactive and what will your group do differently?
Will your organization require special resources—such as rooms, equipment, or event support—and if so, how will you coordinate access through the Office of Student Life and Campus Connect?
Tips for Success
Read and respond to messages promptly, and make sure all officers are included in group communications.
Submit proposals, reports, and requests in a timely manner to avoid delays with events, funding, or approvals.
Organizations with officers who understand Campus Connect procedures or have prior GSO experience tend to operate more smoothly and remain active longer.
