Biography

Your Stories Matter. YOU Matter.

I’m Dr Janhavi Devdutt, a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience in the field of mental health.

My initiation into the field of Psychology 18 years ago was unplanned. But the more I studied the subject, the more intrigued I was by the intricacies of the human mind and behavior. This fueled my drive to pursue a PhD degree in Clinical Psychology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, India, with a commitment to promoting psychological well-being in both academic and professional settings. My rigorous clinical training helped me learn evidence-based practices, understand the nuances of mental health, and hone my psychotherapy skills. Over the years, I have held a diverse range of clinical, academic, and research roles.

I see the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist as one of the most significant drivers of positive change. I, therefore, strive to create a compassionate and collaborative environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions in a safe, supportive space. While I work with my clients to help them address their psychological challenges, I derive inspiration from their stories of strength and resilience. My goal is to help my clients develop greater self-awareness, tap into their inner resources, and work towards achieving both personal and professional growth.

My specialties include

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions to modify unhealthy thinking and behavior patterns into constructive ones.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) – identifying self-defeating thoughts and feelings, replacing irrational beliefs with more productive beliefs.

Positive Psychology Interventions (PPIs) intentional use of strategies designed to promote positive emotions, strengths, and relationships to enhance wellbeing

Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) – developing acceptance of negative thoughts and feelings, encouraging psychological flexibility and values-driven actions to enhance overall wellbeing

Mental Health Promotion – building social, emotional, and psychological skills, and creating a supportive environment that fosters resilience and helps individuals thrive

Beyond work, I enjoy playing board games, being in nature, and spending time with my family – activities that help me recharge and stay balanced.
