Kitchenette Guidelines

The Beacon Lounge includes a well-equipped kitchenette, which is meant to be used for minor activities such as birthday gatherings and tea/coffee parties. This area is specially designated, and all cooking is permitted only in the kitchenette area. Please be mindful of fire safety and other relevant HSE guidelines while using the facilities.

General Information

You need to manually operate the standard electric stove and oven. Please ensure you turn it on correctly and make sure to turn it off after use.

Please report any maintenance issues to the related personnel.

Responsibility

The group reserving the room is responsible for the appropriate and safe use of the kitchen and the appliances.

Any damage to the equipment or facilities and costs incurred for cleaning or fire alarms will be billed to the group that has the room reserved.

Utensils

It is your responsibility to clean and remove your cooking utensils.

You should use the appropriate pot, pan, or utensil for the type of cooking you do.

Safety

In case of a fire, all fire alarms in the building will be activated. The fire suppression sprinklers might activate. Safely evacuate through the nearest exit and call 911 by landline or 0128080911 by mobile. Until the fire crews respond and ensure it is safe to re-enter the building, please remain outside.
The stove must be watched at all times when it is on. Do not leave anything cooking without being physically present.
Before you leave: Check that the oven and all the burners are off. Always double-check to make sure!

Cleaning the stove and kitchen

It is your responsibility to clean all appliances and utensils used and store them away appropriately.

Do not clean the stove when hot. Wait until it cools down. Clean any spills manually when the stove/oven cools. Some cleaners emit noxious fumes when heated and this could be a health risk.

Don't forget to wipe out the sink and make sure there is nothing in the drain.

You are responsible for bagging trash and placing it in the correct location. It is not allowed to leave food in the kitchen or fridge.
